Close to the coast at Charlestown is the Shipwreck and Heritage Centre with the St. Austell Brewery to the south of the town. At Carthaw to the north of St. Austell is the Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum and the Eden Project between the north east of the town and St. Blazey.
