Perhaps you're visiting Kent for a holiday,
weekend-break, day out, or business event.
This delightful corner of the English coast
includes the modern English Channel ports
of Folkestone,
Dover and Ramsgate
together with many other attractions - both
coastal and inland. Kent also includes most
of the "Cinque Ports" of late Anglo-Saxon
England. As local historians know, initially
the three coastal Kent towns of Sandwich,
Dover and New Romney received special concessions
from King Edward ("the Confessor") in return
for certain favours including the provision
of ships and sailors when required by the
crown. Hythe and Hastings
(East
Sussex) joined the original three ports
to form the "Cinque Ports".
We have featured a selection of locations
in Kent together with impressions of aerial
views of each - though necessarily views that
might be seen from hot air balloons (due to
the proximity to the coast and altitude of
typical pleasure flights in hot air balloons).
The placenames on the left link to pages mentioning
just some of the some interesting places from
which you may wish to fly (or fly over and
or view from the air) around Kent, England.
You may not get to see the coast close-up
as a safe landing (on land!) will be a priority
for your flight provider. As with all outdoor
pursuits, safety is paramount. Enjoy your
hot air balloon ride !
These pages include links to established
companies offering vouchers that may be used
for Hot Air Balloon flights. These include
