Cranbrook in

an attractive village with many old yet
well kept houses and other buildings. Its
best-known building is probably “Sissinghurst

as a military fortification but rather a
magnificent country house dating back to
the early 1500s. This property and its extensive
gardens are now owned by the National Trust
and open to the public during the summer
months (opening times vary with the time
of year).
Other villages in the immediate vicinity

Green, Goose Green, Curteis Corner, Hareplain,
Three Chimneys, Knox Bridge, Cranbrook Common
and Wilsley Pound.
