Chichester
is a delightful ancient town located just
south of the South Downs and a short drive
from the south coast at Bognor
Regis and neighbouring seaside resorts.
Chichester is easily accessed by road along
the A27 that runs east-west through the
town and also the A286 (travelling south
from Midhurst)
or the A285 (travelling south from Petworth).
The many attractions in the Chichester area
include its cathedral, museums, shops and
cafes, as well as the nearby Roman Palace
(ruins), Goodwood motor racing track, and
Goodwood house. Slightly further afield
(north of Chichester) are several golf courses,
as well as horse racing tracks, and the
Kingley Vale nature reserve.
Chichester is surrounded by many villages,
including Apuldram, Donnington, Hunston,
North Mundham, South Mundham, Runcton, Merston,
Oving, Westhampnett and Shopwyke.
