Fernhurst
is a village on the A286 in the north of
West Sussex, towards the northern edge of
the South Downs area. In terms of the larger
places in this area, Fernhurst is situated
approximately halfway between Haslemere
(Surrey) to the north and Midhurst
to the south. Attractions local to Fernhurst
include Hollycombe Steam Railway, Black
Down (National Trust property), Lurgashall
Vineyard and the local nature reserve just
to the south (near the village of Woolbeding).
Fernhurst regularly receives awards in the
“Best Kept Village” competition.
Other villages in the immediate vicinity
of Fernhurst include Kingsley Green, Hill
Grove and Dial Green (both on the edges
of Blackdown Hill to the east of Fernhurst),
