Sompting
is part of the built-up area around the
seaside resort of Worthing
on the south coast of West Sussex. Sompting
is on the northern edge of the Worthing
area, north of which is the South Downs.
There are golf courses in the area to the
immediate north of Sompting. There are also
some ancient Hill Forts, Nature Reserves,
and the South Downs Way path. To the south
of Sompting are other suburbs of Worthing
including Salvington, West Tarring, Broadwater,
Goring-by-Sea and West Worthing. Beyond
those are the beaches and the English Channel.
