Knowsley,
Merseyside
Merseyside
is a densely populated coastal county, lots
of people, spirit, humour, lots to see -
from land and air.
Knowsley is one of the greener areas of
Merseyside. There are many interesting resources
in Knowsley but the most well-known attraction
is probably Knowsley Safari Park. This is
home to a wide range of exotic animals,
including monkeys, bamboons, and even lions
and tigers. We're not sure if it's possible
to arrange a hot air balloon flight over
the safari park (you can imagine the considerations
- in particular, the large coloured shape
and the noise from the burner may distress
the residents)! Nevertheless, it is possible
to take hot air balloon flights over real
safari areas in Africa so maybe that's an
alternative. Now back to Merseyside ...
Knowsley is east of the city of Liverpool
and surrounded by other Merseyside towns
including Kirby,
Prescot, Huyton,
St. Helens, and
even Rainford (which is a bit further away).
Knowsley itself is on the eastern edge of
the main Merseyside conurbation and is easily
reached by road from either the M57 motorway
or the A580.
