Goosnargh,
Lancashire
There's
lots to see and do in Lancashire. A hot
air balloon flight may be perfect for a
birthday gift or special celebration.
Goosnargh
Village is situated between Whittingham
and Goosnargh Lane and situated about 2
miles east of the M6 Motorway (3 miles from
Broughton traffic lights on the A6). The
village is increasing in size but still
maintains its community atmosphere. Previous
owners of the post office and village shop
baked the ever popular shortbread and caraway
seed biscuits called ‘Goosnargh Cakes.’
Although this was once the only shop in
the village there is also a row of new shops
nearby. There are several local restaurants
and public houses situated close together
near the village green.
During the summer months the village joins
with Whittingham to prepare and produce
a Whitsuntide Festival/Gala Day Procession
on the Saturday after Spring Bank Holiday
Monday. The day often ends at the village
green where there are organised games and
other events. A local place of interest
is Chingle Hall (famous for hauntings).
